Hello, my name is Claire. I'm a qualified integrative counsellor and trainee supervisor, working in private practice in Peterlee, County Durham, in the North East of England. I work on a 1-1 basis with adults in person and remotely, via telephone and zoom.
I work predominantly with a relational and collaborative approach, meeting clients where they are, with compassion, understanding and warmth, to provide a safe and confidential space where feelings, thoughts and behaviours can be explored.
Alongside my private practice, I also work in the voluntary sector, counselling individuals who have been subjected to domestic abuse and sexual violence. I have worked in this area for almost twenty years and am passionate about this work.. I am an LGBTQ+ allied therapist and my practice is neurodiversity affirming and inclusive.
I am committed to continual professional development and am fascinated by the mind body connection. I have trained in somatic informed trauma therapy and trauma informed approaches, mindfulness, compassion focused therapy, and creative counselling techniques. I am also a qualified Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner and Breathwork Facilitator. I am currently studying towards an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision Including online and telephone working.
I am a registered member of the BACP and accredited registered member of the NCS. I'm also a professional member of the International Breathwork Foundation and an accredited member of the EFT & Mindfulness Centre. I am a registered data handler under the Data Protection Act (1998), hold professional insurance through Balens Insurance and a clear DBS.
